Rules of the Competition
1.In conjunction with the 22nd International Invention, Innovation, Industrial Design and Technology Conference and Exhibition (ITEX) 2011, the Ministry of Education Malaysia together with MINDS are jointly organizing the Malaysian Young Inventors Competition 2011.
2.The theme of the competition is “Inventing for A Greener Tomorrow”.
3.The objective of the competition is to promote the spirit of creativity & inventiveness among young Malaysians and to instill a sense of social responsibility and ownership to make a better tomorrow.
4.This competition is open to all school pupils in both primary and secondary schools in Malaysia.
5.This competition will be divided into two categories – Primary Level and Secondary Level. A total of twenty prizes, ten for each level, will be awarded.
6.This competition is open to individuals or groups. A group should consist of a maximum of three persons only. Each entry must be submitted through the school using the prescribed entry form. All entry forms together with a concept paper to explain and illustrate the technical details of the invention must reach the MINDS office by 6th April 2011. All concept papers submitted are non-returnable. Models of inventions are not required at this stage.
7.Inventions are judged based on the following criteria – novelty, inventiveness, user and environment friendliness, cost effectiveness and commercial potential.

9.All ten finalists will be invited to show-case their inventions during the 22nd ITEX 2011 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Kuala Lumpur from 20th to 22nd May 2011.
10.The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondences thereon will be entertained.
